It’s the biggest and by far the most frequented private ranchon of the Jardines del Rey archipelago. It’s located at the northwestern end of Cayo Guillermo, on one of the most spectacular beaches in Cuba: Playa Pilar. It’s the last stop of the panoramic bus called Jardines del Rey Bus Tour (ticket is 5 CUC roundtrip). Some organized tours to Playa Pilar are also offered, see the Excursions section.
This restaurant is managed by the Cuban group Palmares, they offer other services on the beach, such as a beach bar called Coco Loco, and sunbeds and lounge chairs rentals. The Marina Marlin operates a small nautical center on Playa Pilar where you can rent all-kinds of non-motorized water sports equipment. You’ll find also on-site an observation tower for stunning views of the surroundings. In front of Playa Pilar, about 2 km off shore, there’s a small key called Melia Luna (Half Moon) on which there’s another ranchon type restaurant (Ranchon Media Luna), this one is frequented mostly by excursionists on boat and catamaran cruises.
