Bars & Restaurants in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo

For those wishing to eat a delicious lobster meal or just enjoy a « cerveza fria » in a charming environment, note that there are several restaurants in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo outside the all-inclusive international hotels. They are administered by the Cuban government under these companies : « Catec », « Palmares », « Islazul » etc.

They offer lunch and dinner at affordable prices. Note that they are not part of your all-inclusive. We visited several of these restaurants and the experience has always been very positive.

Do not worry about the quality of food, it is very safe.

Most restaurants are « ranchon » style located on the directly on the beach. The most popular is Lenny's Bar & Grill located in Playa Prohibida (central sector of Cayo Coco).

The most popular meal is undoubtedly the famous grilled lobster. You can also enjoy other meals cooked Cuban style, like shrimps, hamburger, pork, fish or chicken. The price of meals is in Convertible Peso (CUC) and must be paid in cash. Credit cards or debit cards are not accepted at these restaurants. Some are within walking distance of the hotels.

There is no need to book your meal in advance, unless you are a group. To get there, you can opt for a taxi (advise the driver of your return time), a scooter rental which will allow you to discover different points of attractions in Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo or take the panoramic bus (Transtur) that travels daily round trip in these islands (from the Melia Cayo Coco down to Playa Pilar at the west end of Cayo Guillermo) for only 5 CUC per person per day.
